Despite common misconceptions, youth homelessness is not solely a result of personal choices or laziness. Another widespread belief is that homelessness only impacts individuals addicted to substances or those involved in criminal activities. However, the reality is much more intricate. Various underlying factors contribute to the issue, including interpersonal conflicts, mental health challenges, and financial instability. In most cases, there is not simply one root cause of homelessness. Instead, homelessness reflects an interplay among system failures, individual circumstances, and structural factors. By delving into the lives of these young individuals, it is possible to challenge these stereotypes and eliminate the myths surrounding their circumstances.

By dismantling the stigma surrounding these individuals, it is possible to pave the way for empathy and support.
